This is a ten-year-old’s party where you won’t need to wear silly hats, and it’s totally legit to add ‘something’ to the red cordial. The Overload Poetry Festival begins its tenth anniversary celebration at the legendary Reading Room of the Fitzroy Town Hall.
With a milestone such as this we had to invite a suite of poets and performers who have been favourites of the festival, and at times have shared the love in the family affair that organising it becomes. The prodigal sons and daughters return for a feast of words new, old, strange, chaotic and reflective.
Curated by the man who started it all: Steve Smart, and with special guests from UK, Sydney and local legends. The best way to kick off the celebrations of this milestone in the Melbourne poetry scene.
