Helena Spyrou is of Cypriot and Greek heritage. Her work has appeared in a number of literary journals and magazines, including Meanjin, Going Down Swinging, Visible Ink and most recently in the anthology Southern Sun Aegean Light: Poetry of Second Generation Greek-Australians. She reads her stuff in public occasionally. Most recently, she was part of the 2009 La Mama explorations series in a collaborative project titled Tone…Silence…Speak and the 2011 Antithesis Festival.
