Lapkat is a a global exploration of the intersection of music and other sounds with the human voice. Working with multilingual spoken word and minimal global beats, Lapkat DJ sets feature spoken word artists, poets, storytellers, MCs in all languages mixed with eclectic music styles, from old treasures of the world to the new sounds of the global electronic movement.
Lapkat is Lisa Greenaway – spoken word artist, producer, broadcaster. In Lapkat DJ sets Lisa draws on a collection of spoken word and performance poetry from around the world gathered through two decades of working with the international community of poetics. Lapkat features artists working in voice and sound in her DJ sets, promoting the art of aural storytelling in all its forms in new contexts.
